NAWW Member Publishes New Literary Romance Novel

Posted by on Jun 20 2006 | NAWW Member News

NAWW member LK Hunsaker has completed her second literary romance novel, “Rehearsal: A Different Drummer,” and is in the final publication process with Infinity Publishing. Publication date is set for the end of June. Preorders are available at a discount from the author’s website: www.lkhunsaker.com

“A Different Drummer” is the first of a series of four under the title of “Rehearsal” which features a dancer and a young rock band with their struggles for success, friendship, and love during the turbulent Seventies. Hunsaker calls her style of writing “literary romance,” as it is her own blend of the two genres, featuring deep characterization and social issues.

NAWW Member Wins 2006 CNW/FFWR Writing Contest

Posted by on Jun 11 2006 | NAWW Member News

NAWW Member, Barbara Florio Graham was the only Canadian winner in the 2006 CNW/FFWR writing contest. Entries in this contest come from all over the world, and judging is rigorous. There were only four categories in this 24th annual contest, so the Poetry Division was open to both traditional poems and free verse of any length.

Bobbi’s poem, just seven lines long, received the First Honorable Mention. Judge Mary H. Sayder called it “exquisite in its simplicity. Everything works beautifully…” and her additional comments on the website say: “Brevity and amazing simplicity elevate these highly visual lines into a highly memorable poem.” The list of winners and comments are at www.writers-editors.com.
