Reader’s Passport–A New Program with Special Benefits for NAWW Members

Your book is valuable. You’ve put countless hours, weeks, months, years into its creation and more importantly, your heart is in it. In this hectic world, marvelous life-changing books are sometimes overlooked.

How will your book be experienced as the treasure that it is? One avenue is a new program called the Reader’s Passport. Jointly sponsored by R.R. Bowker (Books In Print, ISBN, and many other services to the publishing industry) and local libraries, the program can be summed up as “Readers Causing Reading.”

How does it work? Readers read and return books to libraries as usual, but by picking up a free reader’s passport at the library, they get their “Passport” stamped. After receiving six stamps, they fill in their own name and address, then choose from a provided list of local non-profits and add that name and address too. Libraries forward the completed reader’s passports to participating authors and publishers. We then send one free book to the reader–rewarding them, and tucking our own promotional materials, surveys, or offers as we choose. We also send one free book to the non-profit.
