NAWW Member of the Week: Deborah Vaughn

Posted by on Dec 11 2007 | Member of the Week

Q:    When did you realize you wanted to be a writer?
A:    Like most writers, wanting to write was always there.  But raised in a traditional mid-western household, writing was encouraged only as a hobby or a distraction at best.  Later, marriage, making a living, running a home ~ all of these things kept me from actually writing, but did give me the time to mature and then, lots of material to work with.

Q:    How and when did you make this dream a reality?
A:    In a five year span during my mid-40s, I lost six members of my family.  This included becoming a widow at age 46 after two years of almost round the clock care-giving.  It took a while, but sleepless nights forced me to seriously ask myself why I came to this planet.  I decided to relocate, to start over.  I made a promise to myself that this was my time, and I wouldn’t get distracted again.

NAWW Member Is Booking Guests for Radio Show

Posted by on Dec 08 2007 | Member Requests, NAWW Member News

Nan Russell’s new weekly radio show on www.webtalkradio.net debuted in October and she is currently booking guests for early 2008. Nan will be doing two guest interviews in each show (one featuring authors or experts on workplace and personal development topics; the other “real people” living their life’s work and dreams.) If any NAWW women are interested in potentially being interviewed on the show they should contact her at: workmatters@nanrussell.com.

Title of Show: “Work Matters with Nan Russell”

Show Overview: Work Matters sees itself as a catalyst for inspired and reflective thinking about what your work is and isn’t. Part inspiration, part mentor, part real world workplace, this show will help you offer the best of who you are to the world, live your life’s potential, and actualize your dreams. In the broadest sense of the show’s vision “your work” is about becoming who you are capable of becoming. We talk about work, we talk about life, and we talk about you.

Accomplishing Your Dreams Requires ACTION

What’s Your Programming

“There is an undeniable link between your programming, the core beliefs that programming creates, the vision you develop for yourself, and the results you create.” - Randy Gage

I love the quote above because the last two points really focus on the action you must take to accomplish your dreams and live passionately. We all have the same three elements to work with in order to fulfill our business dreams. We have to work with time, money, and expertise. Since we won’t often have these at the beginning of our journey, we often have to leverage them from other resources.

Creating Your Wealth Plan

Before you can apply a wealth plan of any kind–you must take inventory of where you are. Start by mapping out your ideal life:
What makes you happy?
How much do you need to earn to be happy? Continue Reading »
