An Important Journey and Last Week to Grab 2 for 1 Event Tickets

Posted by on Sep 24 2009 | Events & Conferences, NAWW Announcements

Hi Creators and Big Thinkers,

How are you doing?  I hope you are doing wonderful.

Today I want to connect with you and take notice of a very important journey. Our journey together-and for so many of you, the journey has been over a decade now. Wow.

I just finished a week of business mastermind meetings. One meeting was for my clients and the other meeting was for me where I met with other very successful business owners (many are into multiple seven figures now) to chart my 2010 plans. I had some huge shifts this past week. I am excited about how our company will continue to reach more women business owners and entrepreneurs and help them create and grow profitable businesses that support their lifestyles. It is such an important mission when you really think about it. Let me explain…

Over a decade ago, I was a single mom of two toddler girls working as an administrative assistant (even with a Masters degree!) at Verizon Wireless trying to make ends meet and searching for a way that I could spend much more time with my children and independently take care of us while living a passionate life. Not too much to ask for, right?

I didn’t think so.

So I left and started a daycare called SMILES Learning Center. My first real company. Because I was brave enough to leave that job and start my own business, my journey led me to a new more evolved husband (we just celebrated a beautiful 10th anniversary earlier this month) and two more healthy children.

Had I not left that job, I would have never started the journey that eventually led me online where I built an amazing umbrella of businesses that inspire other women to be brave and take the first step to just move forward in a direction that feels soulful and alive. When I left my corporate job, I was scared, but at least I had hope and I felt alive.

Today, Sheri McConnell Companies, Inc. (which includes the National Association of Women Writers and the Global Institute of Associations) empowers over 15,000 women every week in our newsletters. Not to mention the more than 10,000 women we inspire virally through social networking at just Facebook, Twitter, and Linked In. Our Smart Women books are reaching thousands of women every quarter now and our financial projections for 2010 are close to 3 million.

And honestly, we are just getting started. The vision and mission is that big.

If you have been one of my subscribers over the last 10 years, then you know how important this e-mail is. You know how rare it is that I slow down and take stock of it all. It is time.

I have come full circle and I am here to share the path and the journey with you because it is and has always been our mission to empower women to become financially independent so that they could create positive change in their lives and the lives of their children and their communities. See how huge it is!

So if you are ready, come and play with me and about 75 other amazing women! I sincerely promise to provide inspiration and a genuine approach to starting a business and growing it gracefully so that you don’t lose your mind along the way. And most importantly, I want to show you how to do it so you can have a life full of connections, passion, and people you love all around you.

And don’t think there won’t be bumps (or as I like to say “growth opportunities”) along the journey. Remember, anything worth having is worth finding out how to create and grow. One thing I know for sure, we are each responsible for our own success. And we are the ones that have to find a way to get through all the obstacles along the way.

To all of our success!

Sheri

Posted by on Sep 13 2009 | Events & Conferences, NAWW Member News

Dear Friends and Women Writers,

It’s time to take intelligent, bold action to empower your life and career…

How long have you wanted to, planned to, hoped for and even ached to write your own book?

In these competitive times, a book with your name on it increases your market value, your credibility, your opportunities and your professional profile in every way. Not to mention, the process of becoming an author is incredibly fun and fulfilling!

NAWW Member Linda Sivertsen (the “secret weapon” behind James Arthur Ray’s SEVEN-figure book deal) can’t wait to share with you how she attracted top executives from the biggest publishing houses in NY and created multiple publishing offers for Harmonic Wealth®, which became a New York Times bestseller.

You may not know this, but you don’t need to have a book written to get a non-fiction publishing deal. In fact, most literary agents and publishers don’t want you to. All you need is a unique concept backed by a winning book proposal!

Linda recently revealed her book proposal secrets in her first-ever teleseminar series, divulging the same secrets she used for me. Her three-week course, “How to Write a Winning Book Proposal & Land Your Publishing Deal” was a huge success: www.WinningBookProposals.com

Good NEWS! Linda has turned the course into a program.

Linda’s unveiling it TODAY at a huge discount for immediate access… And, she’s teaching incredible writing/book proposal retreats that people are raving about as well. To get one of the few spots left, go to: www.WinningBookProposals.com/retreats

Linda will share with you countless strategies and samples of winning book proposals, and you’ll learn about how you can also make millions with your books after you’ve nailed the proposal…
Let Linda do for you what she’s done for me and many others by helping you craft a winning book proposal that finally lands you YOUR big book deal!

Here are just a few pictures of the retreat location… go to www.WinningBookProposals.com/retreats to see many more!
