Blogger’s Circle Looking For Committed Bloggers

Posted by on Nov 06 2007 | Member Requests, Call for Submissions

The Her Circle Ezine Volunteer Collective is taking shape with some very interesting projects, including our new Blogger’s Circle.

The Blogger’s Circle is devoted entirely to producing content for our various blog spaces, including a new blog to be established in our forthcoming website redesign. Other blog spaces include MySpace and Squidoo.

All group members have the opportunity to pitch content ideas by participating in an online discussion forum. Then, working with the group’s moderator, writers will produce short 300-500 word articles on topics related to women’s literature and art.

Some examples of appropriate topics include reviews of books and art shows where women’s work is featured, interviews with women writers and artists of interest, and historical pieces on women writers and artists from the past.

Her Circle Ezine has a decidedly political slant and we actively seek creative works that incorporate women’s socio-political issues into the narrative. Therefore, the content of our blogs will work to promote these themes by highlighting historical and contemporary creative works, thereby furthering our mission to generate awareness for women’s socio-political issues and supporting female artists.

Given the specialized nature of our content we prefer writers with a demonstrated interest in gender and women’s studies, as well as in literature and the arts. Participation in the group is selective. To join the Her Circle Ezine Collective, send a note of interest to volunteer@hercircleezine.com

We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours in words,
Misty K. Ericson
Publisher & Editor

Extreme Diva Media, Inc - News

Posted by on Oct 01 2007 | Call for Submissions, Events & Conferences

In addition to being an author and member of NAWW, I am also CEO of Extreme Diva Media, Inc. We publish the “Devotions to Go” series in addition to other titles. I will be in Dallas October 22-23 and am scheduling appointments with women who wish to discuss writing projects with me. I know you and many of your members are based in the Dallas area. If anyone would like to meet with me to discuss a project, they should first visit the EDM website, www.extremedivamedia.com, first to study our guidelines.

If anyone would like to meet to discuss their writing/speaking career, I am available to do that as well. I know how frustrating it can be when someone keeps getting rejection letters and they are not sure what they are doing wrong. I also know how frustrating it is when an author wants to move ahead and is unsure how to proceed. We can discuss these things.

If any NAWW members are interested in meeting with me, just send an email and we will schedule a time. Emails may be sent to:

Roadtrip2007@extremedivamedia.com

In addition we are working to schedule a get together while I am in Dallas. We have many Divas in Dallas and we want them to meet each other and we want all of you to meet also. I love a party and this is a great way for us to mingle and get to know each other. If anyone is interested, drop us an email at the address above. We will send the details as soon as we know.

I look forward to hearing from you and the members of NAWW.

Jean Ann Duckworth
