NAWW Member News: A Professional Writer’s Ladder to Success

Posted on May 16 2007 | NAWW Member News

Your input is needed!  If you’re establishing a business as a writer, probably the first thing you’ve learned is that there’s a lot to learn!  To help new writers get established, a new series of e-books/podcasts entitled A Professional Writer’s Ladder to Success will debut this summer.

Composed by award-winning professional writer Lynn Maria Thompson, each “rung” of the ladder will address a specific aspect of building a writing business.

The first will be entitled “Preparing for Self-Employment: Building a writing business from the ground up”, and includes a list of 14 characteristics of the self-employed, interviews with career coaches and worksheets for estimating startup and living expenses.  It is due to be released in July, with subsequent titles coming about twice a month thereafter.

So far, 33 titles are planned, but in order to better meet your needs, Lynn wants to know what YOU want to know! She also wants to know what such lessons are worth to you.  What price would you be willing to pay for each lesson in the series, or for individual lessons?  If there’s an aspect of building your business that’s been troubling you, or if you’ve had an experience you can share to help other writers, please send that information to her, as well.

You can reach Lynn at lynn@thompsonwriting.com, and get more information on the new series at her website, www.thompsonwriting.com.  Thanks for your help!
