I have owned an online Internet marketing and data company since 1997 and even I (a guy), have had a hard time getting in touch with the people you describe and to this day STILL haven't reached 99% of them. And you'd be surprised to find in most cases, these supposed experts haven't made all the money they say they have. As far as my opinion, I don't care if you're a female, male, or even a teenager if there is a potential for a joint venture that could be lucrative for both sides. I know there are 1000s of woman making alot more than me and other men lol. Woman tend to be more disciplined and organized which is a great asset in business (something I tend to lack lol). Business integrity has nothing to do with gender, I have been burned by women and men. I'm sure a lot of men are what you describe, but not all of us are. ;-) A good movie to watch is that movie with Whoopi Goldberg called "The Associate". Very funny. Be blessed. :-)

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to make sure you saw this over at http://www.lipsticking.com/2008/02/x-chromosome-we.html

I love how Lena thinks--passive results aren't what we are looking for. I am an ACTION girl myself.

Hi Sheri,

Thanks for a great post. I am a female born into a family of primarily males - seven uncles and two Aunts on one side, and 5 uncles on my moms side AND almost all my cousins are male!

In the traditional work force I have always been in male dominated fields and I am now seeing that the internet gurus out there are primarily males. This is something I sometimes forget because it's been such a "norm" for me.

I am finding networking with men much easier in the internet arena especially in smaller groups. What I see with some of the gurus is that they seem to have "grown up" together in terms of success and presence. Unfortunately, I still have many women friends that are somewhat reserved or intimidated in the male world, so I really appreciate what you're doing.

Hi,

I just want to say, that I love your last sentence (LOL). I see nothing wrong with changing the name to reflect a women’s only network for established entrepreneurs who are focused on helping other women learn valuable business skills.

Hi Sheri,

I found your e-mail newsletter provocative. I agree with you about the male Internet experts - most of them are running around beating their chests and not doing a very good job of building community. I'm not going to buy someone's products if I don't like them. I don't really care how much money they make on the Internet.

Women want to build relationships, they want to be inspired, they are attracted to community, and they want to have conversations. This is what drives the best marketing today. I believe most men want this too - but not all of them know it yet because they are stuck in an aging paradigm.

In terms of the glass ceiling, there isn't one when you are an entrepreneur. However, there may be some lag times in reaching the same levels since we are still dealing with "good 'ol boy" clubs. Can you believe we're not past those by now? More and more women will build their own multi-million dollar businesses (just like you are doing) and they will hold big-ticket, big money events.

Best, Wendy

P.S. Don't give up on all the guys just yet. You're just not reaching out to the right ones (Avoid asking anyone who uses war terminology in their marketing). I'm sure there are many male millionaires who would be interested in being part of your community. And what they bring to the table will enrich the discussion.

Fantastic observation. As for your girlfriends, perhaps Madeline Albright says it best:
