Just in case anyone is completely lost regarding the previous post discussed between Sheri and Jennifer... Jennifer is referencing the tip of the week from Sheri McConnell's weekly newsletter. We posted it below for you:

Tip of the Week:

Watch Movies With Your Toddler—Seriously, there are many business lessons woven into just about anything Pixar releases these days! Here are just a few lessons from my 2 year old son’s favorite movies. I highly recommend all of these movies even if you don’t have kids.

Movie: CARS
Lesson: Be Willing To Grow—I see lots of my clients get in their own way simply because they put their head in the sand and they don’t change and adapt as quickly as they need to. They also pursue goals they had in the past instead of stopping and exploring their “new selves”.

Movie: NEMO
Lesson: Just Keep Swimming—Got a big project to complete, a book to write, a website to launch… Remember resiliency is one of the keys to success. Sing to yourself if you have to, but “Just Keep Swimming, Just Keep Swimming”

Movie: ICE AGE
Lesson: You Need a Loyal Herd—Your team and your ability to embrace and be loyal to their many peculiar behaviors/strengths will take you a long way in business. You can’t do it alone. Many of my clients think they can do it alone and are unwilling to trust others because they think of them as “predators” even when they are on their own team. I see it all the time. Take risks and trust people. If it breaks, just fix it and move on.

And this has one is my favorite and a favorite of the girl’s when they were younger:

Movie: MULAN
Lesson: Don’t Be Afraid To Kick Butt—Don’t be afraid to dive right into adversity and do what you have to do to fight for what you believe in. There will be times in business that you feel very alone, but if you are passionate about “why” you are in business and you stay focused you will accomplish more than you could ever imagine.

Hi Jennifer,

Thank you so much for sharing. As a mother of four, we have shared so many laughs and "good times" through the years with the Pixar movies. I can't imagine those movies not being in our lives. Have you ever seen any of the one's I mentioned? Especially Mulan. I literally get chills at the end each time I watch it...

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and take care!

I really enjoyed this video. It is a reminder that one person can make a difference. Thanks for sharing!

However, with regards to having toddlers watch movies (your other point), I would have to respectfully disagree and say this is not the best developmental practice. And yes, I know I am in a minority and want to walk gingerly with this topic. Research shows that television (anything onscreen) is best in small spurts (15 mins or less) and only if it's interacting with the child. As a life span development expert, I would agree with research that the best interaction and teaching methods are those that provide real-world interaction.

That was so powerful and such a reminder that each one of us makes a difference every day. And that the small steps lead to big ones for our world, our lives and our businesses.
Thanks for sharing!
